Lorotec is a medication designed to suppress moderate-to-severe pain. The drug is a combination of two active ingredients: Ketorolac and Tramadol, each of which fights pain in its own unique way. The combination of Ketorolac and Tramadol provides pain relief in two different ways: Ketorolac reduces inflammation, and Tramadol alters the perception of pain. This makes Lorotec-Duo particularly effective for managing pain conditions when other analgesics fail
Each component of this drug has its unique properties that increase its effectiveness in neutralizing pain sensations.
Ketorolac is part of a group of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body called prostaglandins that cause inflammation and pain. When the amount of prostaglandin decreases, so does the pain.
Tramadol is a weaker opioid that acts on certain receptors in the brain known as mu-opioid receptors. This binding causes a change in the perception of pain in the brain and spine, resulting in a decreased sensation of pain.
Lorotec used for the relief of severe pain when other weaker painkillers do not work.
Post-operative pain: Especially after major surgical procedures, when patients are in severe pain, Lorotec-Duo can be prescribed for fast and effective pain relief.
Injuries: In cases of serious injuries, such as broken bones or severe bruises, Lorotec ketorololaco helps manage pain while healing is underway.
Toothache: For relief of severe toothache when standard painkillers don't work, doctors may recommend this medication.
Acute bouts of pain for chronic conditions: For example, in an exacerbation of arthritis or sciatica, when the pain becomes intolerable, Lorotec may be used for short-term relief.
Here is how the dosage of Lorotec pills is usually calculated for different pain conditions:
Postoperative pain: To manage severe postoperative pain, a doctor may prescribe Lorotec-Duo. In such a case, the dosage is one Lorotec 10 mg tablet every 4–6 hours. The same dosage can be used for severe injuries.
Toothache: In cases of acute toothache, it is usually recommended to take one Lorotec ketorolaco 10 mg tablet every 6 hours for several days.
Chronic conditions: In cases of exacerbation of chronic pain syndromes such as arthritis, the dosage can be adapted by the doctor depending on the situation, but usually does not exceed 4 tablets per day.
Remember that Lorotec-Duo is not intended for long-term use. It is usually used for no more than five days, and its maximum dose is 4 tablets per day.
Allergies: If you are allergic to Ketorolac, Tramadol or other components, the use of the drug is strictly prohibited.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Lorotec-Duo is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women, as the active ingredients may adversely affect the baby.
Children and adolescents: The drug is not used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to the risk of serious side effects and insufficient safety data.
Gastrointestinal diseases: If you have ulcers or other gastrointestinal problems, using Lorotec may make the situation worse.
Kidney and liver disease: Patients with severe kidney and liver dysfunction should avoid this drug or adjust the dose.
Cardiovascular disease: Because Lorotec ketorololaco may increase the risk of cardiac complications, it should not be used in people with heart failure or after a recent heart attack.
Each of the components of Lorotec-Duo, Ketorolac and Tramadol, may affect the effectiveness of other medicines, sometimes leading to a risk of side effects or reducing their therapeutic properties.
Anticoagulants (blood-thinning drugs): Both Ketorolac and Tramadol may increase the risk of bleeding if taken together with medicines that prevent blood clotting, such as warfarin or aspirin.
Other NSAIDs and steroids: Use of Lorotec-Duo with other anti-inflammatory drugs or corticosteroids may increase the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
Sedatives and alcohol: Tramadol and sedatives (e.g., benzodiazepines or alcohol) may depress breathing and the central nervous system, which is dangerous when used together.
Antidepressants: The combination of Tramadol with antidepressants of the serotonin reuptake inhibitor group, or MAO inhibitors, is especially dangerous, as it may lead to serotonin syndrome, a serious and potentially fatal condition.
Hypertension medications: Both Ketorolac and Tramadol may interact with blood pressure control medications, affecting their effectiveness.
Lorotec-Duo is a strong combination pain reliever that starts working relatively quickly, making it ideal for when you need to quickly reduce severe pain, such as after surgery or a serious injury. The drug can be part of a complex therapy that includes other methods of pain relief and treatment, which increases its effectiveness.
